SO we have had a wave of anime movies hit UK cinemas this year, after the recent Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale movie this April, we already have the announcement of Fairy Tale Dragon Cry SFL hitting Odeons around the country, buy tickets here.
Fairy Tail is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. Brought to limelight by Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2, 2006, which was then published into 60 tankōbon volumes by Kodansha recently in March 17, 2017. The story follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, a teenage wizard who is part of the magic guild ‘Fairy Tail’ voiced by Todd Habercorn in English dubbed anime. The anime span from 2009-2016 in Japan.
Writer and illustrator @hiro_mashima tweets: FAIRY TAIL DRAGON CRY will be shown in sixteen countries (US, UK, IRL, AUS, NZ, nine Latin American countries, THA and FRA) within May!
The film revolves around the magical artifact, Dragon Cry, allegedly powerful enough to destroy the world. It’s stolen by Zash Caine and brought to the kingdom of Stella, which is ruled by King Animus with the help of his magician, Sonya.
Tatsuma Minamikawa, an episode director on popular series such as: Attack on Titan and Gate, alongside the A-1 Pictures production with series veteran Shoji Yonemura writing the screenplay and Yasuharu Takanashi on the music. Yuuko Yamada (Persona 3 The Movie) provides character designs.
Manga author, Hiro Mashima, will be executive producer and drew almost 200 pages of storyboards for this feature film, hope he used a wrist support cause that’s gotta strain!
